Thirdwave announces new notebook PC “S series” that is particular about operability and usability, with excellent cost performance from 90,000 yen level

Thirdwave announced on May 19, 2022 that it will release a new series of notebook computers “S series” from May 26th. Speaking of the company’s personal computer that operates the computer shop “Dospara” nationwide, the gaming PC “GALLERIA” is famous, but this model is an orthodox personal computer equipped with a 15.6-inch LCD. The feature is that it is particular about operability and usability. The price is expected to start from 91,980 yen (tax included).
A new series that focuses on operability and usability is born
The S series is a standard notebook equipped with a 15.6-inch liquid crystal display. It is a model that meets a wide range of needs, such as replacement by purchase from an old desktop computer, family use, and children’s use.

As a notebook computer equipped with a 15.6-inch LCD, the “DX series” is also available, but this is a model that supports BTO and is also available for corporations. The design is a traditional style, and even the top model is a cost-oriented model that does not exceed 100,000 yen.
On the other hand, the S series has an aluminum exterior body with alumite toning treatment and a modern design. The thickness of the main body is about 17.1 mm (excluding the rubber feet), which is slim, and the weight is about 1.7 kg, which is relatively light.
In terms of operability and usability, the keyboard that was popular in the “F-14 series” is adopted almost as it is. With a 19.6mm pitch Japanese layout, the cursor keys are an easy-to-use inverted T-shape. Equipped with three vertical rows of numeric keys not found in the F-14 series. In addition, the touchpad is also equipped with a numeric keypad, which shines with a backlight and allows numerical input. The lift-up hinge design, which tilts the keyboard slightly when the display is opened, allows for comfortable typing.
The display is 1920 x 1080 full HD. Use a non-glare type panel. The 720p webcam has a physical shutter for security. A fingerprint authentication sensor is also provided on the right side of the main unit.

Although the external interface is a thin body, it is equipped with 5 USB ports. Two of them are Thunderbolt 4 ports (USB Type-C shape), which can be used for video output and USB PD compatible power input. The included AC adapter is a 65W USB PD specification. In addition, it has HDMI output, microphone input / headphone output, and microSD memory card slot. The wireless LAN is compatible with Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth is 5.2, and the network has the latest specifications.

The lineup consists of the following three models. The main difference is the installed CPU, memory, and storage capacity, and other specifications are almost the same. The standard price is 91,980 yen (tax included) for the model equipped with Core i3, which is cut by 100,000 yen, and 124,980 yen (tax included) for the top model equipped with Core i7, which is relatively reasonable and has excellent cost performance.
